13 So-called Baba Recipe 2

My mission to learn culinary from Nyonya Lily (mom) continues...

I've hosted another dinner party and invited my group of friends over. Preparation is vital because this group is just so hard to please.

Today's menu:

1) Nyonya Chicken Pong Teh

2) Sei Pak Choi with ginger Fish

3) Cincalok omelette

and chef's original..

4) Rendang seafood

Warning: Due to the graphic nature of this post, tissues are required to avoid
any drooling on the keyboard

**********************************************************************

Nyonya Chicken Pong Teh

Chicken, potatoes, chinese mushroom, garlic, onion, tao cheo (fermented soy beans), black sauce, salt and sugar.

Cincalok omelette

Cincalok, eggs, chilli, onion and pepper.

For those who don't know, cincalok is a popular Melakan food made of fermented small shrimps or krills and sold in bottles.

It's already saltish as it is, no salt needed.

Sei Pak Choi with ginger fish

Fish (marinated with ginger and oyster sauce for over 4 hours) sei pak choi, garlic, oyster sauce.

Rendang Seafood

Squid, fishball, meatball, fried fu chok, rendang paste, santan, and salt.

Of coz my presentation is always over the top, so you can always add on egg omelette (optional) and hand wrap the ingredients. Finally, X marks the spot.

Dishes ready to be served

At the table (Mathan's hand, Pav, Vriesia and Ee Lin - the expert food critics)
At the back (Meng, Lay Kim and Lee Hoon - as long as got food, makan je..)

Feedbacks:

The rendang seafood was a favourite but since Meng is a die hard fan of fishballs and fu chok, will consider putting extras next time.

The pong teh was a little oily. My bad.

Ahh.... our usual routine after dinner: Ice cream. This time got marshmallows in it.

Here's where I realise two things girls are good at - gossiping...

and listening...

Ashok's having a little heart to heart with the girls.

He's sharing his menstruation problems -.-

Let's call it a day. Thanks for coming over.

P/s: I need to learn new recipes, share pls. I might try it and put it in my blog xD
