Its weird right? It's rare to see Chinese hanging out with Malays and vice versa. I guess it's nothing to be surprised of because we are after all living in Malaysia. The so-called SATU MALAYSIA is just bullshit if you really get to sit down and talk to Malaysians. Typical ones.
Although many say that they are not racist, but friendship with other races is LIMITED and always have been. Ya, one might say that he or she got friends of other races but that's it. They're just friends who you talk to in class and say 'hi' and 'bye' to. But not many will have friends of other races in their "featured friends" list in friendster (back when it was still popular). What I mean is that not many have close friends of other races. You get what I mean.
Can't really blame Malaysians coz there's always the inevitable language and cultural barrier. But in the end, it's the question how much will you let these things bother you. For now, all I can see is that Malaysians will frown upon people mixing with other races and its a big NO-NO.
PROVE ME WRONG.
Just imagine seeing a Chinese walking with a group of Malays, or a Malay walking with a group of Chinese in a shopping mall. People around can't help it but to stare or glance. To a more disgraceful extent, they start talking behind your back.
Well... F**k you!
I'll give you something to talk about. Oh how I wish I have the guts to throw that in their face. but I can't coz I need to uphold my "teacher image".
Once, I went out to TESCO with my Malay friend, Aza. Then I bumped into one of my Chinese seniors at the food court and he asked "You came alone?". I said no and pointed to Aza who was busy buying drinks. Then the senior immediately looked at me as though I've commited the biggest sin in the world and raised his Karam Sing Walia hand gesturing "What are you thinking?". That made me guilty for no reason.
Well screw it! If you're not going to be a Malaysian, just don't criticize or stop others from being one. I don't care what race you are. If you click with me, it's probably because you are nice fun people who have the initiative to befriend me in the first place. Being Chinese doesn't give you the license or right for me to befriend you. And this should go the same for others. Too bad in Malaysia, race is still a big factor of friendship, instead of effort.
Haiz, this post turns out to be a cynical one, which is not what I intended it to be. So, can I just go back to my happy post? :)
Kay, it's fasting month as they say, we got to kuatkan iman :) Haha, I don't even fast lol. But for the past week, I was being a busybody wanting to butt in my Malay friends' dinner plans. (Im known for my thick face alright) I gotta say, I didn't know that breaking fast can be done with style.
Imagine breaking fast in Redbox...

Don't need to imagine, I got the pics.

Yeen promoting the buffet. They charge us rm30 per head for it, so DO take as much as you can.
As long as the table is not full, then you're not done.

This is just first round.

More pics before breaking fast. (O ya there's a Siamese girl in there. Can u spot her?)

Karaoke while eating.
Ironically, the Malay girls picked tons of English songs while I was busy walloping Malay songs. This call Malaysia-lah. Diversity!
Just a few days later I joined other Malay friends to break fast.

I recommended Subway at E-Gate coz the sandwich is the best and the portion is huge.

Even their motto "Eat Fresh" says it all. You just order according to the steps and they'll do it right there and then.
5 simple steps:
1) Choose the type of sandwich displayed on the menu
2) Choose the type of bread
3) Choose the size (6 inch or foot-long)
4) Choose the vegetable toppings
5) Choose the sauce

This is how my 6 inch sandwich looks like. Er... sounds weird. Let me rephrase it.
This is how a regular 6 inch Subway Club Sandwich looks like.
If you're really hungry, double it...

12 inch that is one foot long.
Still hungry?
Order another.

That's total of 24 inch long.
I think they should do a competition like Sushi King's Big Bowl Challenge, to see if people can eat a 24 inch sandwich in 10 minutes. If can, then it's FREE. If not, then we have to pay full price which is RM20+ for 12 inch. I wonder if anybody can down that length of sandwich in one go.
Don't forget that it's pretty fat.

The sandwich I mean. Even Chubby have difficulty biting into it.
